A Child is Born

I watched Megyn Kelly interview Rev. Franklin Graham during a segment of “The Kelly File..” Mr. Graham said: “What’s happening is we’re glorifying sin, we’re lifting up sin. And it’s like little children shaking their fist at Almighty God,”

Mr. Graham talked about the secularist taking Jesus Christ out of His birthday and wanting to remove Him completely out of everything. The America culture, says Mr. Graham, would rather have a sex-crazed, pop-artist Miley Cyrus than Jesus Christ. Yet in his compassion, Mr. Graham said, “God is the God of forgiveness.” He said, Hell is a real place for anyone who turns their back on God. He went on to say, “But he (God) is willing to forgive, every sin, my sin, and every sin I’ve ever committed”.

I watched the trailer across the bottom of the screen which read: They are taking religion out of Christmas. No, Fox News, They are taking Christ out of Christmas!

For unto us a child is born…,(Isaiah 9:6). Even unto a wicked and adulterous generation, God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16). But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8). He was buried and rose from the dead on the third day.

Unto us a child is born…He took upon him the form of a servant…He was made in the likeness of men.

A virgin birth. Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us (Matthew 1:23). And she brought forth her firstborn son (Luke 2:7). The life of our Lord had His beginning in a virgin’s womb who later would die and buried in a virgin tomb.

A virtuous life. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him (II Corinthians 5:21). And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin (I John 3:5). A perfect son became a perfect sacrifice; a perfect sacrifice became our perfect Savior.

A vicarious death. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures (I Corinthians 15:3). But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). I could not die for my sin, yet he died for my sin and the sin of the whole world.

A victorious resurrection. And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures (I Corinthians 15:4). Behold my hands and my feet, look at me, handle me; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have (Luke 24:39). Victory is in Jesus alone.

A visible return. This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven (Acts 1:11). Keep look up, Jesus will guide your feet.

It seems to me…unless a God-child had been born, there is no gospel and the whole world is still in their sin.
