The Measure of Our Mission

My prayer is that this passage of the scriptures is my testimony. For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise. But we will not boast of things without our measure, but according to the measure of the rule which God hath distributed to us, a measure to reach even unto you. For we stretch not ourselves beyond our measure, as though we reached not unto you: for we are come as far as to you also in preaching the gospel of Christ: Not boasting of things without our measure, that is, of other men’s labours; but having hope, when your faith is increased, that we shall be enlarged by you according to our rule abundantly, to preach the gospel in the regions beyond you, and not to boast in another man’s line of things made ready to our hand. But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth (II Corinthians 10:12-18). The measure of our mission is in the preaching the gospel. For we stretch not ourselves beyond our measure, as though we reached not unto you: for we are come as far as to you also in preaching the gospel of Christ: There may be those who can preach the gospel better, but none has a better gospel to preach. Some preach it clear as crystal but cold as ice. Th e preaching of the gospel is that what will penetrate the need of man. The measure of our mission is to pursue new ground where the message has not been heard. To preach the gospel in the regions beyond you; the world is our field of evangelism. There are nations upon nations all over this entire world that must be reached with the gospel message of hope. We together can do better in sending others out and providing finances to do so. The measure of our mission is not patterning ourselves after others. and not to boast in another man’s line of things made ready to our hand. We pattern ourselves like unto our Lord, as his first message was to repent and believe the gospel (Mark 1:15). We are made in the image of God, being conformed into the image of His Son. He is the rule for kingdom living. The measure of our mission is personally seeing one’s faith increase. When your faith is increased, we shall be enlarged by you according to our rule abundantly. We bring our children into this world to grow, not remain babies. God’s will for children is to grow in the grace and knowledge of His only begotten Son. We are to be spiritual, not carnal or sinful. When there is growth, it pleases God and those who know who we are. There is no better joy than to see others growing in the things of the Lord. The measure of our mission is proven by giving all glory to God. But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth. The proof of the pudding is in the eating. When they see our good works, they will glorify the Father in Heaven. All that is needed in measuring our mission is that God approves us in His call upon our lives. When so, He will say, well done, my good and faithful servant. It seems to me...we have nothing to boast of in the life, only to give glory to Him.
